I have arthritis in multiple joints with chronic pain controlled by water therapy/swimming/water exercise. I ended up having surgery on a toe and I am now stuck out of the water because the surgeon refused to give me a waterproof cast that I could use to protect the toe with a xerosox overboot while in the pool. So, while being stuck in a cast is a bummer, being in pain because the surgeon isn't informed and won't do a temporary cast is even worse, for me. Miserable.
