Broke my ankle about 10 days ago, while walking my little boston terrier on a country trail. Good ol' Wisconsin winters, I slipped on some ice and down I went! It all happens so quickly. I called my daughter and she came and got me and took me to the ER. Since I was on a country trail, hundreds of yards away from the main road... I ended up having to army crawl on my stomach for what felt like an eternity. Haven't had to have surgery, happily. I fractured my left ankle in three places. The hardest thing for me is how bored I have become... already. I am a very active person, walk about 50 miles per week.
What do you all do while being layed up? There is only so many movies, TV, internet surfing, etc that I can handle in any given day. It is also very hard to sleep, only being able to sleep on my back with a mound of pillows under my leg. I'm also finding myself feeling bad for my dog (she is my best buddy). She doesn't know what to do without her daily walks and is scared to death of my crutches!
It's going to be a long couple/few months. Hoping you are all doing okay and would love to hear all of your stories and ideas of what to do with all of my free time!
